The goal of corrective chiropractic care is to clear negative spinal patterns that are causing dysfunction throughout the body. An example of this is someone who has their head shifted too far forward (anterior head syndrome) which is causing spinal degeneration in their neck and leading to stiffness, pain, and limited mobility. The first step in this process is to restore motion and balance to the areas of spinal dysfunction. Once that is done, we then will work on stabilizing the spine in the correct position, establishing a healthy set point where the spine is better able to move properly and better adapt to life’s stressors. Finally, we work on strengthening the spine in its correct position.
Once someone has finished their corrective care process, we then recommend a vitality program. This involves periodic checkups to fix spinal misalignments before they have a chance to cause symptoms or lead to spinal degeneration or loss of movement. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and putting a little bit of effort and energy into keeping your spine healthy will serve you greatly.
